Boys! Boys! and More BOYS!

So I've been on a lot of dates lately, and I was telling some friends all my dating stories, and they said I should write them down so I remember them. So here are my dating stories from my first semester of college (most of these happened within one week.)

1. Spencer Donldson- We had psychology together. He is quite different meaning that he is really smart, nerdy, and just weird. I liked talking to him though, because he was an interesting guy, but I think that gave him the wrong idea. He asked me on date, and I didn't want to go, but I have a problem saying no so I went. We went to Comedy Sportz which is an improv show. It was really fun, but the 10 minute car ride there and back was super awkward, along with the hug goodnight. I went to give him a hug and he got so stiff, and looked in opposite direction of me. I can't remember who said it, but someone said that I probably scared the poor kid to death he probably thought I was going in for a kiss. Not a CHANCE! Then the next time we saw each other in class was a little awkward to make it more awkward he followed me to my next class. Then said, "I'm not really good at reading dates." and then asked what I thought about the date, and if he did anything wrong. He made it so awkward, glad this semester is over, and that I wont see him again. Nice guy, but just not for me.

2. Danny Eason- Met him at F.H.E. and the activity was speed dating. He was definitely one of the cutest guys there. I was excited when he asked for my number, because he was the only one that night. His roommate Kevin and one of my roommates are friends, and so they came over afterwards. Well Kevin and Danny captured me and took me to their house for another F.H.E. It was fun, then we hung out for about two weeks, we went Ice Skating, Hiked to the "Y", decorated gingerbread houses, went to the Nativity play at the conference center, and had a couple movie nights. Through these two weeks I found myself feeling that we had no connection, but he has been one of the cuter guys I liked. He is 24 and has been married once, which also scared me a little, but the big issue was not feeling the connection. The final straw was he took me to a "Pyramid Scheme" meeting. Made me feel super uncomfortable when everyone works for the company and are trying to get me to sign up to sell. NO THANKS!! That was the end of Danny.

3. Bret Everson- We met in health class, and didn't really talk much, but he would sit by me if the seat was open. He asked me on date towards the end of the semester. He is kind of a little guy and he looked pretty young. Boy, was I wrong! He is 28, loves to shop, and has his pilots license. He had a little history of being wild, and recently within the last two years got activated in the church again. He didn't have anything planned for the date, we went and got pizza, then he took me to his apartment for dessert, which made feel a little uncomfortable. After sitting for an hour in silence pretty much. (He was setting up his apple t.v.) He picked a rated R movie Super Troopers and I thought it was a horrible movie, and didn't enjoy it all. I was trying not to fall asleep. I could tell the movie was winding down and I was thinking in my head "Yes, I get to go home and go to bed." Then he interrupted my thoughts with, "Do you have finger nails?" It was a really random question, I answered yes. Then he said "Are they acrylic or real?" Then I thought, that is really weird he knows what acrylic is, most guys just say fake. I said they are real and showed him. Then he unbuttoned his shirt sleeve and rolled it up and said tickle my arm. What the heck!! I didn't know what to say, so I tickled his arm. Needless to say he took me home, and I didn't want to go out with him again. Well he text two weeks later and said he wanted to see me again, but I kind of just blew him off because it was finals week.

4. Joe- Joe works with Rachael (my roommate) we sat by each other at movie a long time ago, I guess he really liked me, but I didn't remember him at all, but Rachael said she gave him my number, but just out of the blue he called me and left a message. He just said hi, this is Joe we met at the movies, and I was just calling to see how you were doing. I didn't ever call him back because I didn't know what to say. So we never ended up going on date, but he did come hang out at our house, so maybe he'll call me again? and I'll have a good date story!

5. Joe (Costco)- I worked inside costco for four days, and there was a guy named Joe who was between 60-70 years old. He would talk to me everyday and was kind of flirting, but I thought he was just being a nice old guy. Well then he started getting creepy. I told him my last day will be Thursday, and he said, "well how am I suppose to take you to lunch?" I said I don't know... and then the conversation changed. I didn't really think anything of it but on my last day there he came up to me and said, "How am I suppose to take you to lunch or dinner?" I again said, "I don't know." I was trying to look busy because I felt really uncomfortable then he then said, "Well if you don't know, then I don't know, but I have an idea how about you give me your number?" At the moment I just wanted to run out the door, but I couldn't because I was working. I told him I didn't know how I felt about that. He said, well you look busy, so come talk to me after you get off, I snuck out the entrance door to avoid him, and never will go back into that Costco. (Luckily it was the one in Sandy.)

6. Kyle Harvey- I met him at EFY when I was 17, I thought he was an awesome kid. We talked after EFY but never hung out because he lived in Lindon, but I wrote him all two years he was on his mission, then after about a week or two off his mission he got my number and we have hung out twice. This first time we went on date/hung out we went to Harmon's and bought cookie dough then we went to his friend Chandler's house and made cookies, and played ping pong, and another game. It was fun, and I enjoyed this date! Then he came and got me and we went and got ice cream at Macey's because their ice cream always looks so good. It was a really short outing I was only gone for about an hour, but he is one that I would go on more dates with.

7. Isaac Ellsworth- The first time I saw him was at Chili's. I was on a date with another boy and he told us that we could sit in the open bar area, that way we didn't have to wait. He ended being our waiter. Well I saw him the next day at school, and continued to see him every other day after that. He would leave the classroom I was going into. He finally got the courage up two weeks before the semester ended to talk to me. We chatted every other day for about week, then he added me on facebook, then he got my number. We had a lunch date on Campus. I found out that he plays the guitar and is the lead singer in a band called Money Penny. the band does pretty well, they go on tour a lot. He seemed like a cool guy, he looks like he is 12 though. I invited him to my christmas party, and he was the last person to leave. My roommates and I were in the kitchen talking to him and the question of age came up, he told them to guess. Whitney (my roommate) blurted out well you look like your 12 but since your have two degrees already I would say 28... well come to find out he is 32! and this is where it gets a little more awkward, he is a professor at UVU. He is a nice guy, but he is quite a bit older than me.. so it makes things a little weird.

8. Taylor Johnson- I haven't been on date with him yet, but I met him at speed dating, and then found out he was in my health class also. He seems like a nice guy, but we will have to see if this date turn outs.

Well its has been a crazy month in my dating life. I have never had so many guys at one time have an interest in me. Guys never ask me out on dates so to have all these guys come around at one time freaked me out a little. It has made for some funny and interesting stories.

Tis the Season

Well it was an interesting Christmas this year, we didn't really do the normal traditions like usual. I spent the first part of being here babysitting my two nieces. It was really fun, and tiring at the same time. I love spending time with them, and seeing how much they have changed while I have been gone away at school.
We had an amazing Christmas Eve Dinner that Emily made for us. She is a great cook, and a great hostess. We had dinner played games, and enjoyed each others company. It was nice to have Grandma Houston with us this year.
Christmas morning we got up and went to church at nine, and then we came home and had breakfast, and then we finally opened presents at 11. Weston, Rian and the kids came over and opened presents with us. Then we cleaned up our mess and went down to Justin and Emily's and gave them there presents.
Later that evening, we went out to Uncle John's. Its always fun to get together with mom's side of the family. I enjoy socializing, and hearing what everyone got for Christmas. It was really fun to watch everyone play Just Dance 3 on the wii. Justin, and Uncle John were probably my favorite to watch. Kenyon put in a good effort too.
It was definitely a different Christmas for me, but we were all here this year, and thats been nice. We were all blessed, and I'm thankful for the things that I have in life that I sometimes take for granted, and also grateful for an amazing family!

Christmas Time 2011

My life has been super busy these past two weeks! We had an ugly sweater Christmas party at our house. I spent all day Friday cleaning the house, and all day Saturday shopping (for food) and making treats, and getting things set up. We invited over 200 people, 40 people said they were going to come and about 30ish showed up. I had five friends that came. It was very overwhelming but it was fun.
Then the week following the christmas party was finals. I spent a lot of time studying, and working on an English portfolio. I really don't know how people can work full time, and go to school full time. I struggled working part time, and going to school. So it was nice to work half the semester and then being able to take the last half off and just focus on school. I'm glad to say that my studying paid off! I got an A is psychology! It was one of my harder classes for me because it involved a lot of reading, and I had to take a quiz every week. Then I took a special education class and I got a 94 on the final, so I got an A in that class too!
I just need three more classes to post my grades! The only grade I'm worried about is English. I have worked really hard in that class, and stayed up way late working on my portfolio to try and make it as perfect as possible (a big thanks to Janice!), but my professor is a harder grader so I will have to wait and see. If anything, I learned I can make it through a class even if the professor grades hard. I'm just praying I at least get a B.
I had a job interview a week ago at the Chrysalis Home, but it looks like I didn't get it. It's a blessing in disguise, because I really wanted to go home and spend time with the family, but if I got this job I would have only had christmas weekend off.
I'm so grateful for everyone in my family that has helped me get into college, and helped me figure things out this first semester. Also a huge thanks to Janice who has proof read all my english papers, and spent hours on Skype with me, so that I could get a good grade.
I hope everyone enjoys their Christmas and I hope it's a very Merry one at that.

It is Finals Time!

I have almost made it through my first semester of college at Utah Valley University. So far so good, if I can just make it through this last week of classes and then one week of tests! I have really enjoyed the college experience, and getting to meet new people, and learn in depth about different subjects and topics. I feel like have a grown a lot this year, and I hope to continue to grow. I'm hoping to go home for a couple weeks after this semester, but it all depends on if I get this job I'm interviewing for this Friday. I applied to the Chrysalis Home. Its a glorified baby sitting job of handicap individuals. I think it will be a great job, and then I can do hair on the side. Life is moving forward.
