Boys! Boys! and More BOYS!

So I've been on a lot of dates lately, and I was telling some friends all my dating stories, and they said I should write them down so I remember them. So here are my dating stories from my first semester of college (most of these happened within one week.)

1. Spencer Donldson- We had psychology together. He is quite different meaning that he is really smart, nerdy, and just weird. I liked talking to him though, because he was an interesting guy, but I think that gave him the wrong idea. He asked me on date, and I didn't want to go, but I have a problem saying no so I went. We went to Comedy Sportz which is an improv show. It was really fun, but the 10 minute car ride there and back was super awkward, along with the hug goodnight. I went to give him a hug and he got so stiff, and looked in opposite direction of me. I can't remember who said it, but someone said that I probably scared the poor kid to death he probably thought I was going in for a kiss. Not a CHANCE! Then the next time we saw each other in class was a little awkward to make it more awkward he followed me to my next class. Then said, "I'm not really good at reading dates." and then asked what I thought about the date, and if he did anything wrong. He made it so awkward, glad this semester is over, and that I wont see him again. Nice guy, but just not for me.

2. Danny Eason- Met him at F.H.E. and the activity was speed dating. He was definitely one of the cutest guys there. I was excited when he asked for my number, because he was the only one that night. His roommate Kevin and one of my roommates are friends, and so they came over afterwards. Well Kevin and Danny captured me and took me to their house for another F.H.E. It was fun, then we hung out for about two weeks, we went Ice Skating, Hiked to the "Y", decorated gingerbread houses, went to the Nativity play at the conference center, and had a couple movie nights. Through these two weeks I found myself feeling that we had no connection, but he has been one of the cuter guys I liked. He is 24 and has been married once, which also scared me a little, but the big issue was not feeling the connection. The final straw was he took me to a "Pyramid Scheme" meeting. Made me feel super uncomfortable when everyone works for the company and are trying to get me to sign up to sell. NO THANKS!! That was the end of Danny.

3. Bret Everson- We met in health class, and didn't really talk much, but he would sit by me if the seat was open. He asked me on date towards the end of the semester. He is kind of a little guy and he looked pretty young. Boy, was I wrong! He is 28, loves to shop, and has his pilots license. He had a little history of being wild, and recently within the last two years got activated in the church again. He didn't have anything planned for the date, we went and got pizza, then he took me to his apartment for dessert, which made feel a little uncomfortable. After sitting for an hour in silence pretty much. (He was setting up his apple t.v.) He picked a rated R movie Super Troopers and I thought it was a horrible movie, and didn't enjoy it all. I was trying not to fall asleep. I could tell the movie was winding down and I was thinking in my head "Yes, I get to go home and go to bed." Then he interrupted my thoughts with, "Do you have finger nails?" It was a really random question, I answered yes. Then he said "Are they acrylic or real?" Then I thought, that is really weird he knows what acrylic is, most guys just say fake. I said they are real and showed him. Then he unbuttoned his shirt sleeve and rolled it up and said tickle my arm. What the heck!! I didn't know what to say, so I tickled his arm. Needless to say he took me home, and I didn't want to go out with him again. Well he text two weeks later and said he wanted to see me again, but I kind of just blew him off because it was finals week.

4. Joe- Joe works with Rachael (my roommate) we sat by each other at movie a long time ago, I guess he really liked me, but I didn't remember him at all, but Rachael said she gave him my number, but just out of the blue he called me and left a message. He just said hi, this is Joe we met at the movies, and I was just calling to see how you were doing. I didn't ever call him back because I didn't know what to say. So we never ended up going on date, but he did come hang out at our house, so maybe he'll call me again? and I'll have a good date story!

5. Joe (Costco)- I worked inside costco for four days, and there was a guy named Joe who was between 60-70 years old. He would talk to me everyday and was kind of flirting, but I thought he was just being a nice old guy. Well then he started getting creepy. I told him my last day will be Thursday, and he said, "well how am I suppose to take you to lunch?" I said I don't know... and then the conversation changed. I didn't really think anything of it but on my last day there he came up to me and said, "How am I suppose to take you to lunch or dinner?" I again said, "I don't know." I was trying to look busy because I felt really uncomfortable then he then said, "Well if you don't know, then I don't know, but I have an idea how about you give me your number?" At the moment I just wanted to run out the door, but I couldn't because I was working. I told him I didn't know how I felt about that. He said, well you look busy, so come talk to me after you get off, I snuck out the entrance door to avoid him, and never will go back into that Costco. (Luckily it was the one in Sandy.)

6. Kyle Harvey- I met him at EFY when I was 17, I thought he was an awesome kid. We talked after EFY but never hung out because he lived in Lindon, but I wrote him all two years he was on his mission, then after about a week or two off his mission he got my number and we have hung out twice. This first time we went on date/hung out we went to Harmon's and bought cookie dough then we went to his friend Chandler's house and made cookies, and played ping pong, and another game. It was fun, and I enjoyed this date! Then he came and got me and we went and got ice cream at Macey's because their ice cream always looks so good. It was a really short outing I was only gone for about an hour, but he is one that I would go on more dates with.

7. Isaac Ellsworth- The first time I saw him was at Chili's. I was on a date with another boy and he told us that we could sit in the open bar area, that way we didn't have to wait. He ended being our waiter. Well I saw him the next day at school, and continued to see him every other day after that. He would leave the classroom I was going into. He finally got the courage up two weeks before the semester ended to talk to me. We chatted every other day for about week, then he added me on facebook, then he got my number. We had a lunch date on Campus. I found out that he plays the guitar and is the lead singer in a band called Money Penny. the band does pretty well, they go on tour a lot. He seemed like a cool guy, he looks like he is 12 though. I invited him to my christmas party, and he was the last person to leave. My roommates and I were in the kitchen talking to him and the question of age came up, he told them to guess. Whitney (my roommate) blurted out well you look like your 12 but since your have two degrees already I would say 28... well come to find out he is 32! and this is where it gets a little more awkward, he is a professor at UVU. He is a nice guy, but he is quite a bit older than me.. so it makes things a little weird.

8. Taylor Johnson- I haven't been on date with him yet, but I met him at speed dating, and then found out he was in my health class also. He seems like a nice guy, but we will have to see if this date turn outs.

Well its has been a crazy month in my dating life. I have never had so many guys at one time have an interest in me. Guys never ask me out on dates so to have all these guys come around at one time freaked me out a little. It has made for some funny and interesting stories.

Tis the Season

Well it was an interesting Christmas this year, we didn't really do the normal traditions like usual. I spent the first part of being here babysitting my two nieces. It was really fun, and tiring at the same time. I love spending time with them, and seeing how much they have changed while I have been gone away at school.
We had an amazing Christmas Eve Dinner that Emily made for us. She is a great cook, and a great hostess. We had dinner played games, and enjoyed each others company. It was nice to have Grandma Houston with us this year.
Christmas morning we got up and went to church at nine, and then we came home and had breakfast, and then we finally opened presents at 11. Weston, Rian and the kids came over and opened presents with us. Then we cleaned up our mess and went down to Justin and Emily's and gave them there presents.
Later that evening, we went out to Uncle John's. Its always fun to get together with mom's side of the family. I enjoy socializing, and hearing what everyone got for Christmas. It was really fun to watch everyone play Just Dance 3 on the wii. Justin, and Uncle John were probably my favorite to watch. Kenyon put in a good effort too.
It was definitely a different Christmas for me, but we were all here this year, and thats been nice. We were all blessed, and I'm thankful for the things that I have in life that I sometimes take for granted, and also grateful for an amazing family!

Christmas Time 2011

My life has been super busy these past two weeks! We had an ugly sweater Christmas party at our house. I spent all day Friday cleaning the house, and all day Saturday shopping (for food) and making treats, and getting things set up. We invited over 200 people, 40 people said they were going to come and about 30ish showed up. I had five friends that came. It was very overwhelming but it was fun.
Then the week following the christmas party was finals. I spent a lot of time studying, and working on an English portfolio. I really don't know how people can work full time, and go to school full time. I struggled working part time, and going to school. So it was nice to work half the semester and then being able to take the last half off and just focus on school. I'm glad to say that my studying paid off! I got an A is psychology! It was one of my harder classes for me because it involved a lot of reading, and I had to take a quiz every week. Then I took a special education class and I got a 94 on the final, so I got an A in that class too!
I just need three more classes to post my grades! The only grade I'm worried about is English. I have worked really hard in that class, and stayed up way late working on my portfolio to try and make it as perfect as possible (a big thanks to Janice!), but my professor is a harder grader so I will have to wait and see. If anything, I learned I can make it through a class even if the professor grades hard. I'm just praying I at least get a B.
I had a job interview a week ago at the Chrysalis Home, but it looks like I didn't get it. It's a blessing in disguise, because I really wanted to go home and spend time with the family, but if I got this job I would have only had christmas weekend off.
I'm so grateful for everyone in my family that has helped me get into college, and helped me figure things out this first semester. Also a huge thanks to Janice who has proof read all my english papers, and spent hours on Skype with me, so that I could get a good grade.
I hope everyone enjoys their Christmas and I hope it's a very Merry one at that.

It is Finals Time!

I have almost made it through my first semester of college at Utah Valley University. So far so good, if I can just make it through this last week of classes and then one week of tests! I have really enjoyed the college experience, and getting to meet new people, and learn in depth about different subjects and topics. I feel like have a grown a lot this year, and I hope to continue to grow. I'm hoping to go home for a couple weeks after this semester, but it all depends on if I get this job I'm interviewing for this Friday. I applied to the Chrysalis Home. Its a glorified baby sitting job of handicap individuals. I think it will be a great job, and then I can do hair on the side. Life is moving forward.

Wowzer!

I don't know what is happening but all of sudden guys want to date me. I have been on two dates in four days. I have a date on friday and just got asked out on date for Saturday. It is a little weird. I'm not use to this!!
On a different note, school is going well. Its starting to get stressful again because the end of the semester is in sight! Its crazy to think I've almost made it through my first semester of college! I'm very thankful that I am able to go to school and further my education. Its not the easiest thing in the world, but it is well worth it. I've already signed up for my classes and I'll be taking English, math, reading strategies class, nutrition, and one other class that I can't remember at the moment. I'm looking forward to the next semester and to making new friends.
Overall I'm feeling good about life again. All I need to do is find a job again.

Speed Dating

Last night for F.H.E. we had a combined stake speed dating activity. I was skeptical about going to it, but I figure it would be a good way to meet and make some friends. I talked Michell into going with me, but she ended up canceling, and my roommates invited me to go with them. We got there a little bit late, and it was full! We didn't have anywhere to sit and it started making me feel awkward, and I just wanted to leave. Well we stuck around and they finally set up some chairs, and I got to mingle. I met a lot of interesting people to say the least. I did make a couple friends, Kevin and Danny. Kevin is actually a friend to one of my roommates, so I've met him before, but we officially friends now. Danny is his roommate, and they are both really neat guys. They kind of captured me and took me to their house for f.h.e. It made me want to start doing f.h.e. at my house, and having family prayer. It was awesome for me to see a group of 8 guys have f.h.e. together. I'm sure I will be hanging out with them a lot more.

What a weekend....

Well its been a rough five days to say the least. I guess you could say I went through a little heart break, and that is never easy or fun. Then I got sick Halloween night and ended up throwing up. I just got done disposing of what I ate for the day and brushed my teeth. I looked up in the mirror, and that was the last thing I remember until I woke up sprawled out on the bathroom floor looking up at the ceiling. I fainted, and hit my head pretty hard because I had a headache for two days, and yesterday my body was a little sore and stiff. Luckily I have great family and friends that have helped me find the light again. Monday, Brynn sat and talked to me all day and cheered me. Tuesday I went to three different temples; Draper, South Jordan, and Oquirrh Mountain with Michell. we did 26 baptisms each. It was good to get out of the house and do something meaningful. Then Wednesday I headed to Taylorsville to see some of my favorite cousins, Lacee and Lincoln. Robbie is out of town for eight days, and they were a little worried about me, so I figured I would go spend the day with the two of them. We had lunch, went to target, played with Lincoln, and had dinner. It was good for the both of us to get our mind of things. They are the best examples to me, and I love them dearly. I'm feeling good again, and I get to go home this weekend which I'm excited for!

Fall Break

Fall break was well needed! I went home for four days, and I enjoyed every minute of it. One of my favorite things about going home is how excited Nyah and Anastyn are to see me. Nyah came running out of the house and jumped into my arms, and Anastyn got a huge smile on her face and jumped into my arms too. They were full of smiles, and giggles. I'm dreading the day when they get older, and not so excited to see their Aunt Dizzle. I guess when that time come I'll have to get a dog (they are always excited to see you.)
I spent Thursday with the girls (Emily, Nyah, and Anastyn) running around, doing a little shopping, and went out to lunch. Then took a little break and took an Exam for my psychology class. Then I went out to my moms school and played at their school carnival. We took Nyah and Anastyn and they got to ride a big horse, they were so excited!
Friday, I went and saw one of my high school teachers, and then went out to lunch with Maureen. It was fun to catch up with her, and her busy family. Then I spent the rest of the night at home.
Saturday, the whole family went to Staheli Farm and played. We looked at the animals, played on the toys, ( I did the rope swing, and got a nice bruise on each leg from it.) Then we went to the pumpkin patch and picked out pumpkins. Then mom, Kenyon, and I did a little shopping, and then we went home and had Pizza and pumpkin carving with everyone. It was really fun to spend the day with family, and for the most part everyone got a long, and there wasn't too much fighting! It was a beautiful day!
Then my mom got sick, with some bad abdominal pain and its really scary to watch her! I don't like when my mom isn't feeling good, so we got her a blessing, and she went to bed. I'm glad she was feeling better by the time we left.
Then Janice was a big help, and helped me revise, and edit my english papers! She helped me out a ton, and I'm so so very thankful for her! She made me feel better, and I'm ready to jump back into school.
Even though I was pretty sick for the first half of the break, I'm glad I was with my family.
I'm feeling tons better, and I'm meeting with English Professor today to get help with my second paper. I'm a little nervous, it is always hard to ask for help, but in the long run I know it will pay off! Well I'm off to study for a midterm that I have to take tomorrow!

FRUSTRATED

It has been a week! I have been really busy with school, trying to get all these papers written, study for mid terms, and then to top it all off I got sick. (Go figure.) I was feeling pretty good about school, but now its starting to get me down. I got my first english paper back, and I thought I did really well on it, nope! Got a C-, and I have to redo it by friday if I want to get a better score. I feel like up until now I've been decent in english, but not so much any more. Then I took my health midterm and got an 86... not really happy with that either. I guess you live and learn. Hopefully I figure out how to write a stupid paper, and fast!
On the bright side I get to go home today, and have a little vacation, along with a lot of studying!

Weston

Yesterday, I had just got out of class and had made my way down to the counseling center, and I got my psychology book out to read, and of course then I checked my phone. Well I had a missed call from Weston, and a message. So I listened to the message... boy I was in a for an ear full! No joke he left me a 10 minute message! After looking really dumb because I was laughing out loud. I called my brother back. He then said he wanted to take me to lunch! Free food! I'm there. So he picked me up from campus in his rapist (work) Van. We drove across the street to the golden arches (McDonalds) and we had a short and sweet lunch. I had a 12 o clock appointment so we only spent a half hour together, but it made my day, and I smiled and laughed all day, and showed two people my long message. I love random visits from family!!!

Job

So Saturday when I went into work, I got there and my manager said, "Rilee come here I need to talk to you." When ever I hear those words I cringe. It usually means I'm in trouble. So I follow her to the back room where she says, "Jill (the district manager) wants me to tell you that even though you put your two weeks in that doesn't mean you have to be done." I was a little confused.... She then continued to say that she knows I'm worried about finding another job, and that I can stay longer. Then she asked me if I wanted to stay, and to think about it, so she can put me on the schedule or not. ha ha I started laughing to myself. Usually when someone puts in their two weeks notice it means there done. There is a reason they are leaving. It was a nice gesture, but no thank you!

Conference Weekend

Well life has been pretty good. This past weekend I got to go to conference with my mom and Kenyon. Its always a good experience! I love the feeling you get when your in the conference center. Its crazy how just being in the same room as the prophet and apostles brings the spirit 10x more! I also went to the haunted forest with my friend Drew. It was fun... I've decided that scary movies, and haunted houses don't really scare me, yes they may make me jump, but they don't really freak me out, give me nightmares, or anything like that. It was a good weekend.
Then friday, I finally put in my two weeks notice at Smart Style. It was really scary, but I'm glad its over with, and I'm feeling a lot better. Now I just have to get my other job in line, and maybe get a second one, I'll have to see how the first little bit goes, and if I can make enough money doing booth rent. If everything works out I will be working at a salon called Beautylicious. Its a cute little salon, and I'll be working with my old co-worker (Tyler) which would be fun! we get a long great.
School is going great, this month is stressing me out a little, but I'm sure I'll make it through. I have lots of tests (3 exams), papers (3), and then all my other homework. I will be so excited for fall break, and to go to St. George halloween weekend.
The weather here has been cloudy, and rainy. It actually feels like fall. I kind of like it right now, but I'm not really looking forward to the snow! I'm scared to death to drive in it, I'm just praying I can make it through the winter. Well thats pretty much it... nothing too exciting!

Weekend/ English Professor

This past weekend I got to go home, and go to the cabin. It was a good get away for me. My mom planned a girls trip with two of her friends, and I just invited myself. We had a great time going on four wheelers rides, taking pictures, and playing hand and foot. I think we all wanted the weekend to last a little longer. It was a great weekend, with great people, and great food!
Now, moving on to my English Professor. Her name is Jane Wellington, and I'm always surprised by her. When I first saw her, she seemed like a down to earth person (literally) and she seemed nice, I was a little intimidated, but that went away pretty quickly. Well the other day in class she made us make a list of things that we knew a lot about, or that we were good at. So while we were making our lists, she was making one too on the board. Well one of her topics was "being dumped for a younger women" It threw me off guard. I wasn't expecting that to be discussed. I'm so use to high school where you keep your private life to yourself. Then today before class started My english professor and the math professor got in a little cat fight before our class started, and my professor ended up calling the math professor a "female dog" and it totally caught me off guard again! College definitely is different than high school.

The life

Well life has been full of chaos lately. I never realized how much time and effort college takes. I give kudos to anyone who has graduated with a degree with good grades. I feel like I do nothing but school these days. I'm taking 5 classes 6 if you count institute. I have English, University Success (class thats suppose to help you succeed in college), Health, Psychology, and Teaching students with disabilities. So far, I'm liking all my classes some more than others, but I'm still enjoying them, and learning a lot.
Last night I went to a Pizza party at my friend Bo's apartment. He wants to go to culinary school so everything was made from scratch. He even made the dough. He made me a spinach mushroom something pizza (a fancy name that I don't remember) It was quite tasty. Then he made a foreign pizza with peanut butter on it. Sounds weird but it actually tasted pretty good. Then he made a honey, peach, cheese, and something else with cinnamon sugar sprinkled on top. It was so so good. I don't think that I would ever think to put any of those ingredients on a pizza. I mad a new friend while I was there. Here name is Toni/Tawni (I'm horrible with names and I don't really remember.) She seems like a great girl! I was very impressed, and I want to be just like her now. She is so kind, doesn't say anything mean, looks for the positive in every situation, and is a true example of being christ like. I gave her a ride home (She is going to BYU and doesn't have a car) and she got my number and said that she would call me, and I can come hang out with her and her roommates because they are really cool. So I'm excited to get to know them!
Work is so so, I'm feeling a change coming on very quickly! Well I'm off to do some homework.

Its finally here! College!!

Well these past couple of weeks have been crazy fun. I did the kiss me dirty race with Emily. We had so much fun and got really muddy! I belly slid through the mud twice, and through a foam pit. Attempted to do a couple cart wheels too! Then This past Thursday Grandma Joan and I went shopping and I got some new school clothes and a back pack. Friday I went to the lake with my dad and Steve. It was perfect! I couldn't have asked for a better day! It was sunny, the water was calm, and there was us and one other boat the whole day. I played all day! Then my friend Bo came out later and it was fun to have a friend there. Then we watched a movie later that night.
Saturday I had to work, but after work Robby and Lacee drove down to Orem and took me out to dinner at Macaroni Grill (it was good) Then we came back to my house and Robby gave me a blessing. I don't know what I would do with out the two of them! They are my life savers up here! They always have good advice when I'm down and always offer blessings when I think I need one. I'm so thankful that they are close enough that I can call on them. Then I had to work sunday and when I got off I came home and started getting things ready for today.
So I got up and got ready and the pants I wanted to wear still had the stupid security thing on them so I had to change my outfit idea no big deal though, I was at UvU by 9:30. Parking is ridiculous! There are sooo many students there that its insane. You literally have to stalk people for a parking space. I didn't it know it, but I parked on the opposite side of where my classes were. I was booking it! I made it right on time sweating my guts out. I walked in right behind the teacher. My first class was english 1010. My teacher is a granola hippy type lady. She is spunky, and I think I'll enjoy her class. My second class I wasn't in such a rush because I had two hours to kill until it started. So I found my class then I sat down at a table and started my homework... Yes I already a ton of homework I feel like. I have to write a one page paper, read 20 pages in a text book, and a work sheet and read through two syllabus'. I thought the first day might have had less home work, but thats alright it'll give me something to do. After class I went to the book store and bought two books that are outrageously priced, but I have to have them.
Then I went to work and I was kinda busy and made 24.00 in tips, and I got to read some of my text book so it worked out nicely for me.
After I got home from work I realized that I need to put check in the bank so I can pay for my books.... well I couldn't find it!! I was tearing through my room looking through everything! My roommate Kristin even came and helped me. I bought a printer, and returned it today... I thought maybe I accidentally stuck it in there, so Kristin drove me all the way to the Lindon Walmart we tore through the printer box nothing... came home tore through my car... nothing... went back to my room tore through everything twice... nothing... Kristin was looking in both living rooms and I'm in my room about to cry, and I open my psychology text book and there it is! I'm so glad I found it. I put it away in the right place so I can put it in the bank tomorrow!
I've enjoyed the first day of college. I feel a little more grown up! I'm still trying to figure out how to manage my time more effectively to get everything done that I need to, but its only the first day so I'm sure I'll get it down some time!

I don't want to brag... but... its really cool

So on Tuesday my friend told me to come hang out with her and group of people... I was a little hesitant but I'm glad I went. There is this place in Alpine where people go off this huge bike jump into water. I guess its a really popular place up here and people get into this extreme sport. Some people there were doing front flips, back flips, diving, and cannon bombs. It was really cool to watch.... now trying it is another story.... It took me all night to get the courage up to do it... but in the end I did, and it was awesome!!! I got it on video its on Facebook and everyone should check it out! (if anyone reads this) I don't think I will ever do it again... my body hurts... you hit the water pretty hard, but I'm proud to say that I've done it! Anyways... I've been trying to go to the temple weekly. Its been fun! I've been to the provo and Mt. Timpanogas temple. My goal is to eventually have been to all the temples in Utah! I start school on the 29th and I'm anxious and nervous. I'm excited to be learning and making new friends... worried about the big campus, homework, and trying to figure out scheduling with school, work, and social life, but I guess I will deal with that when I need to. This summer has gone by way too fast, and there is still so much I want to fit in before I start school, but play time is coming to end, sadly!

Ups and Downs

Well Its been a while since I have updated my blog. My Bad! Well life is just moving forward. I start school in about two weeks, that is insane to me! I feel like I need more summer. I've been having a lot of ups and downs lately. I guess thats part of growing up. I think once school starts I'll feel a lot better... (I hope!) Well I made a couple new friends in the ward. I was really struggling and so I got a blessing from Robby, and then the next day I made new friends! (One of them is really cute which doesn't hurt! :D ) and I finished the book of mormon that same week. My goal was to finish by April, but I didn't quite make it, but I'm still so happy that I finished. I went and surprised my family this past weekend, and went to the cabin with them. It started out a little iffy (we were all kinda in a bad mood) but we got some sleep and we were all happy campers. It was fun to get away and enjoy the cabin and the family! I went to a ward swim party last night. It wasn't too bad, I'm just so shy in big groups, and get insecure.... so I don't make to many friends, but i'm trying to work on being confident. I don't know how you really gain confidence, but if anyone has suggestions I'm an open book. I had a really mean lady come into the salon today. I was cutting her husbands hair and she ripped into me. I was fine until they left, then I started bawling. My new manager told me to go into the back room... I got it under control in 15 minutes... which is pretty good for me! ha ha
I've been trying to be healthier. I cut out most of my carbs. ( I hardly ever eat bread any more, which is my favorite thing!) I eat meat, veggies, and fruit, and lots of water. I also try running at least 3x a week. I definitely feel a lot better! Don't worry I still eat some junk occasionally! I definitely don't deprive myself. I cooked a steak for the first time today and it actually tasted pretty good! I marinated it over night in a balsamic herb marinade, and I even marinated my asparagus in it. It tasted delicious! I'm trying to venture out and learn how to cook a variety of different things... If you have any good recipes throw them my way! Well thats all for now! :D

4th of July/ and Mona Lake on the 6th

Well I had to work on the 4th from 2-6, but I still had fun. I drove to salt lake after I got off work. Brynn had a bbq at her house and had invited the family. We had hamburgers, watermelon, chips, pepsi... normal bbq food. Grandma and Grandpa Hendrickson came, which was really fun! Then dad came (which is really a shocker) and he stayed for quite awhile. Then after they all left Brynn, Michell Tidwell, and I lit off fire works. We had a good time. the told me to hold a fire work and so I did well it burnt me hand and it flew off into a tree... It could have ended really bad, but I was lucky! Then on the 6th we had a girls trip and we went to Mona lake and took dads waver runners out. It was really fun to get outside and to be in the water. I have been wanting to go to the lake all summer and I'm glad that I finally got to go. I almost mastered a 360 on the knee board. I was pretty proud of myself, even though I didn't get it. Brynn and I got really sun burnt, and sore from knee boarding but we wouldn't trade it for anything! It has been a pretty fun week. Its been a busy one.

St. George Trip/ Haykuhi/ Job

I haven't blogged in a while! So I went to St. George a week ago. It was fun to get to see the family, and enjoy the warm sunshine. While I was there I had to say good bye to my foreign exchange friend Haykuhi (She is from Armenia). We had a dinner for her and it was really fun. We played Quelf! I've decided that I like watching that game more than playing. ha ha but it was still fun. Then I got to see my friend Devin. It was fun to get to see him and catch up on each others lives. He is such a busy guy your lucky to see him for 5 minutes, and he spent the whole night with us. Then Tuesday morning we got up early and went to the St. George airport to say our final goodbyes to Haykuhi. It was a very tearful morning. She is the nicest young lady ever. I hope she does come back to the United States one day! It was a lot of fun to get to know her, and learn about a different culture.... and even try to say a few things in a different language. (which didn't work out to well for me... its all about sounds, and they all sound the same to me.)
Now, I have been having issues at my job for about a week and half, and I have been starting to look for another one, but I won't quit until I have another job. So My coworker put his notice in and his last day was on saturday. I really liked him, so it made me want to leave even more. Then, yesterday when I got to work our district manager was there (which is always scary) She comes into the back room and says you know whats going on right? I said nope... she said Nicole (my manager) is quitting her last day is Thursday. I guess my face changed a lot because she said Nicole didn't tell you... I said no.. she was like oh, I'm so sorry... I thought she would have told you by now. So there was only three of us working there to start out, now its just me. I have to work with the district manager on friday which I'm super nervous about!!! and I work 36 hours a week now... (this was only suppose to be a part time job.) My job was fun, and it helped me a lot, but its definitely time to move on now.

Stress! No Worries!

Its funny what life throws at you.... You'll be living life and its quite peaceful then all of a sudden everything takes a turn for a little bit and you are thinking oh my!! Well I loved my job. I thought it was great, but now its starting to get dramatic. My coworker and I don't really approve of everything that my manager does. We both got written up for not hitting commission, but how are you suppose to hit commission when your strictly walk ins. We can't control how many people on the spur of the moment walking into Walmart decide to get their hair done. What even bugs me more is that when I started she said commission wasn't a big deal.. they (being the corporate) like you to hit commission, but if you don't its ok.... well I guess its never been that way and now you have to hit commission every pay period or you get written up and on the 3rd one you get fired.... To be honest.... I don't think its fare, but what do I know... ok enough of my soap box.... even though I have had a not so good 2 weeks, I've definitely seen how the lord has blessed me. I got to spend some one on one time with my sister which was nice, I have a great family and they listen to my complaints (mainly my mom), I have great friends that cheer me up, and I found 23 dollars while I was cleaning my room yesterday.... I guess everything equals out in the end! :D I'm so excited to be going to St. George tomorrow. It will be a nice escape from everything.

DATE

View Discretion is Advised!!!
Well Last night I went on a date with a guy named Carson. He is cute, and has a good sense of humor. The only catch is that he likes this girl Amy who happened to be doubling with us. I still had fun, but it was a little awkward at times. We went up the canyon and had a fire, and went glowing sticking. (if you don't know what that is, its where your break open the glow sticks and put all the liquid on each other so you glow.) Well It was fun the first 15 minutes and then it got in my eye. It burnt so bad! It said on the package just rinse with water and you'll be fine... well I did that twice, and it didn't work. So from 10:30-1:00am I had an that was on fire, that I couldn't open or else it hurt, if it was closed it hurt, and my eye kept watering. Then It started making my nose run, then the left side of my face started to hurt, then I started getting sick. I was a trooper and and stayed for the whole date, but boy was I ready to get home and shower and rinse my off. When I woke up today it was still blood shot and swollen, but its finally looking normal now. So besides that we made s'mores, roasted star burst, and talked. We had some problems with the fire though.... they made me nervous and almost started a forest fire to say the least. I'm glad that my eye isn't burning and that I can still see! :)
Today I tried going to my wards luau, they said it was at park behind the provo temple. Well I drove for 45 minutes all around the temple, but never found them... so then I came home and watched a movie by myself. Thats a quick up date of my weekend.

Sleep Over

Well last night Madisen and I had a sleep over in the tree house in my backyard. It was really fun, sleeping on a piece of wood isn't very comfortable, but it will definitely be a good memory! It was perfect weather too! We slept up there until 8 which I thought was pretty good. We had planned to get up and go to the provo temple at 5am for baptisms. (its my YSA'S ward temple week) but i looked at my recommend that night and it expired in April! I was so bummed because I really wanted to go, and this was going to be a great opportunity for me, but I guess there is always next week! :D

Family

Today was fast and testimony meeting at church. A girl named Emily stood up and bore her testimony, her mom and dad live in Missouri where the tornado hit. It destroyed their house, but luckily they were ok. She said that its just a house, and what really matters is still here. A lot of what people had to say today was focused on families, so I just want to say how thankful I am for my family! I love each and everyone of them so much and they truly have helped me become the person I am today, and have taught me a lot over my 19 years. I wouldn't be where I am today, or the person I am with out them behind me, encouraging me and supporting me. I'm also thankful for my extended family and all that they do for me, and for their great examples and their love. Families are the best, especially mine! I hope they know how much I love and appreciate them!

Times are changing!

This has been a long weekend for me. I ended a friendship which was super hard, but I guess in the end its better for me. It's definitely hard to close one chapter of your life and move on to the next, but when one door closes another one opens. :D On the bright side I got to see my mom twice this weekend, and she is coming again next weekend. :D On friday night I went to a bon fire with my roommate Kiley and then we went to her friends house and played games. We crammed like 25 people into a small living room apartment. It was fun to get out and meet new people, although I'm a little sad that I didn't get any digits, but I guess there will be many more opportunities. Then Saturday night I hung out with My friends Justin, and Carson. I watched Carson cut Justin's, and his little brothers hair, then we went to Carson's house and watched Hot Rod. Then Today I went to church and had a good lesson in Relief Society it was on visiting teaching, and it has me motivated to be a better visiting teacher. I'm scared to start, but I know once I do I will learn and grow so much. Then my mom stopped and visited for minute and we got to eat together which is always nice! I love food! Justin, Carson, and Amy came over tonight and we had smores (thanks to Justin) and played farkle, would you rather and watched rush hour one and fivel west. It was a good night.

CALLING

Well it finally came... I was hoping it would take a little longer, but I guess I'm needed. I got a church calling. I'm on the Relief Society Committee. I'm not really sure what all that calling includes, but I plan activities and maybe teach... (teaching kind of scares me...) I'm also a visiting teacher now, and I will do my first "visit" on Sunday. My partner is one of my roommates. This is all a little overwhelming, and I'm super nervous, but I hope I learn a lot, and grow. I have a fear of church callings so hopefully this will help me to overcome them at least a little bit!

Busy Weekend

Sorry mom, I haven't really been home to blog, but here is your update.

Well I had Thursday and Friday off. So I spent it with my grandma. We just watched talk shows, the news, and went grocery shopping. Then I drove home so that I could work Saturday morning. Then after I got off work I drove back to Salt lake and went to my Cousin's birthday party (Chelsey Hendrickson's little boy.) Then I spent the night at my grandmas and I got up Sunday morning and got ready for church and drove to Logan. It was my friend Zach's Farewell (Mustache boy) I have never driven to Logan before, but I thoroughly enjoyed it even though I was by myself. I could see myself living in Logan... Its such a cute little town and its so pretty right now. The mountains were just cover in green plants, and trees, and I just loved it. I don't think I would like the winters there though... So after the farewell he had a lunch thing at the Logan library. I didn't really know anyone but him, and his friend Tyler. So I clung to Tyler. The room we ate in was where the city council meets (I guess) but there is this big long desk with 6 comfortable chairs... of course all the guys ran up there to sit... well they saved me a seat. So I was in the middle of 5 guys. ha ha they all wanted to sit by me which made me laugh! Then we went back to Zach's house and hung out and played a card game... it was a little over my head (I think its called Bang.) Then I had to leave. I hurried back to salt lake, got lost coming home, but I made it to Robby and Lacee's for dinner only 15 minutes late! I love spending time with them. They are so cute together and make me laugh a lot! I'm so thankful that I have had the opportunity to get to know them. I adore and admire both of them. Lincoln is so cute, and he has started walking!! He is going to be the heart throb when he gets older. :)
I meet with a member of the bishopric tomorrow night (wednesday) Brother Webb... I'm thinking he is going to give me a calling... I'm a little nervous!! I just barely got my visiting teaching assignment and that already overwhelms me... but I'm sure what ever the case may be it will help me in the long run.
Just an exciting side note.... my dad gave me 20.00 dollars... haha I was really shocked! but it was nice!!
I've been pretty busy lately, but I've been enjoying it!

So Excited!!!

So I have been really home sick the past little bit. I feel like I have been gone for over a year and its only been a month and a half. I'm so excited to be home and see all my family and to be in the warm sunshine! I don't think Thursday can get here fast enough! On a side note, I went to church on sunday, and I was just telling my roommate that this is the first Mother's Day that I haven't had to talk ( so I've only only talked on two, but still) Not even a minute later the bishops secretary came over and was like Rilee would you say the opening prayer.... UHHH.... Totally ruined that. So I said yes, because I need the blessings. I got super nervous and shaky ( there are only 500 young single adults in my ward) Then the counselor conducting said "Brother Rilee Snyder will say our opening prayer... then I felt even more dumb, Oh ya on top of it I burnt my neck with the curling iron that morning and it probably looked like a hickey, but I swear its not! Its definitely a burn!! Then after my roommate and I went to the munch and mingle (free food, and the hopes of making new friends! Count me in!) Well I did make a new friend his name is Horhey (I don't know how to spell it but thats how you say it.) He was born in the Dominican Republic, then moved to New York when he was five, grew up there, moved to Utah 5 years ago and was converted. He was super nice and had a cool story!

P.s.

I forgot to mention in the last post about the snow! Well on Friday night it started snowing!! The end of April and it was freezing cold! We got like a half inch but it mostly melted by the next evening. Which was nice. I'm not so sure how I feel about this cold weather! I definitely miss sunny St. Geezy!

Red Boots, Thanksgiving Point, and snow.

Its been awhile since I have posted something so I figured I bet get on that. So this past weekend my friend Hayden, and his mom came to Orem (They came to go to a museum). We all went out to dinner on Friday night. We went to P.F. Changs. It was really good, and it was a lot of food. Then Hayden and I went to the Nickel City (arcade) and played there for a little bit then we rented to redbox movies The Tourist, and Skyline (skyline was a little boring). Then Saturday morning we all went to Thanksgiving point and walked around the gardens. They are so pretty all the flowers are in bloom or just starting to bloom. There were tons of pansies, and tulips. Very very pretty. Then we walked around the shops, and I found Red Cowgirl boots, that I happened to fall in love with.... but of course they are 200.00. Maybe one day I will get red boots, but for now they will have to be put on hold. :) Then I went to Church on Sunday and it was really good. Our sunday school lesson was on when Christ healed the blind man. Our teacher did a great job! At the very end she called on a guy in the class to come up and sing the first verse of Amazing Grace. (it was just on the spot.) He did a great job, and he has an amazing voice! I also made a new friend at church. His name is Trevor. We kind of chatted throughout the sunday school lesson. Then I went to my Grandma Joan's for dinner. I just enjoy being with family on sunday, and I'm grateful that she is up here. Then I went and saw my sister and our friend Michell and we had good night. Then I spent the night at my grandmas because I didn't feel like driving home. All in all it was a good weekend. Hopefully this week is full of fun! On the bright side only two weeks until I get to go home!!!!!!! :D

Bowling/ and my first date

Tuesday I went with my friends Madisen, Justin, Patrick, and Tiffani and we all went bowling. It was really fun and even though I lost I did quite well. Madisen had donated plasma so she couldn't bowl using her right hand. So we both decided to bowl left handed and we did awesome. Madisen bowled a 86 (using her left hand) Justin bowled an 83 Tiffani bowled an 80 and Partrick bowled 125 and I bowled a 79 (with my left hand!) Madisen and I did amazing for using our non dominant hands. So I went on my first date up here with a guy named Matt. I wasn't too thrilled about because he is 27. I was super nervous, but it was an ok date. Went to In-n-Out and got milk shakes and french fries, then we went to trafagala and watched a 3D movie and did mini golf. I did fantastic at mini golf!! I was glad to get it over with! Today I went to the Red Deli with my friends. I love it, they have the best sandwiches. I will have to post pictures of bowling later!!

All Nighter, Park City, and Toms

Well I have been pretty busy this past week. Tuesday I worked til about 9 and then I went to the movies with Madisen and Justin. We went and saw source code. It was pretty good! Then we went to walmart after that and bought 5 more movies and went back to Madisen's house. We started watching Sweet Home Alabama, but turned it off because it was skipping. Then The three of us just chatted until 4 in the morning! In that time we also signed me up for my fall classes!! (but I think I need to do a little rearranging) Then Justin went home and I just slept at Madisens. Well she likes to talk a lot! Especially at night so she talked to me til about 6. At 9 I woke up and drove home, showered and went back to bed until noon. Then I got up and got ready for work. Thursday morning I drove to Salt Lake and hung out with my grandma, and my friend John. We went to lunch at Rumbi (it was good, but not as good as Honalulu grill) Then he gave me a tour of the rich part of Bountiful. There is a 12 million dollar home up there that is just a monster!! He said its really cool on the inside. (He is friends with a person that lives there.) Then I went back to grandma's and spent the night there. We got up and went shopping. I got some red Tom's (There shoes) and I love them, and they are so comfortable. I would highly recommend them to anyone! It was my Easter present from her. Then we picked out Brynn an Easter present and I think she is going to love it! :D Then I spent the rest of the day with Robby Lacee, and little Lincoln in Park City. They wanted to go for a drive and thats where we ended up. We didn't a little walking around, rode on a bus, and had dinner. At dinner we sat and told Lacee stories about Grandpa Clark. Boy do I miss that fat boy!! Then I heard a couple stories about Uncle Greg. They were pretty funny. Then I went back to grandmas and spent the night again and she made me breakfast then I drove home so that I can go to work! Its been a fun week and I love spending time with the family!

Hanging out

Yesterday Brynn came down and we hung out all day. We both got ready then I had to run to my work for a second and then we came back to my house and ate lunch (Chicken Chalupas) and watched Tangled. She had never seen it before and she loved it... I kinda dozed in and out through the movie, but it still was good. Then we went to her house for a little bit and she showed me how she had rearranged her room, and then we took pictures on her computer they are priceless!! ha ha you can put your face in man's face and its awesome. To say the least we were entertained for like an hour with that. Then we met up with our friend Laura and went to dinner. We went to Village Banker. It was delicious!! I got a chicken salad sandwich on honey whole grain bread and then a mango chicken salad. It was very good and I highly recommend it! Then we went to Laura's and ate and just chatted until about 9. It was fun relaxing day!

A day off

Well today was my day off, so I slept in until about 9:30 (I tried getting up, but just couldn't make myself) Then I got ready, and went grocery shopping. I went to Walmart, and Cost Co, and I spent all of money! On the bright side I have food now! :) I meet with the UVU counselor tomorrow at 9 am, and hopefully I will be able to sign up for a couple summer classes! I made chicken chalupas tonight for dinner and they were quite tasty. All my roommates said it looked, and smelt good. I was willing to share some, but when they were done cooking all my roommates had left, so I ate by myself, nonetheless it was delicious! Life is going pretty smooth at the moment, and I feel good about it! :)

My Weekend

Well, its been a crazy week/weekend. Thursday night my roommate Kiley took me on a date. We went to a little cafe in provo. Its called the Cyber Cafe (or something close to that.) They were having stand up comedy. It was really fun and I laughed a lot. It was fun to get out of the house and go and do something. Then Friday night I went to dinner with Kiley and Kristin (roommates) We went to Olive Garden, it was fun to just sit and chat with them. Then after that I hung out with my friend Madisen and her friend. Then Saturday I had to work. We had this mom bring in her handicap son who is 36. He hates getting his hair cut and he had a melt down and slid out of his wheel chair and was on floor for a good 45 mintues, yelling and swearing. It wasn't good!! Then I got home and changed and went out to dinner with Jacob, Kirk, Neil, Taylor and another girl (but I can't remember her name.) I was sitting there waiting for everyone to get there and I was 10 minutes early and they were about 15 minutes late... so I was sitting there for a while by myself, well these guys came and sat down and then invited me to sit with them until my friends got there. Matt and Jet.... they were a little too old for my likings, but they were really nice guys! Then I drove to salt lake in the pouring rain and got my grandmas about 11pm and I went straight to bed. Then I woke up to snow :( I got ready and went to conference and really enjoyed it!! My manager had an extra ticket so I just went by myself. I'm so glad I went. Its so crazy how spiritual that room is. I'm so thankful for the gospel!! Then I went back to my grandma's and she made me dinner! :D I'm grateful for grandparents too!! That was my fun exciting weekend! OH!! and I made a 14 dollar tip that I was super proud of! :D

Mom Thats the hair cut I did that I really like! :D

I Got A J.O.B.

After only a week of being on the job hunt I got one!! I work at the Smart Styles inside the Lindon Walmart. I was scared to work in a salon, but it really is quite fun. I just have to say how luck I am!! Job hunting really is intimidating to me, and I wasn't doing very good. I didn't even apply at Smart Styles, luckily through my roommate they got my number and called me! My brother Weston says I'm one lucky girl!! I had an interview on Monday, and filled out an application, then tuesday I had a technical interview (meaning I had to do a hair cut on a model, which was my sister) and then I started working 20 minutes after that. I have loved every minute of it, and I love the people I work with. We all get a long great!! I'm happy to say that I don't hate men's hair cuts any more and I'm getting fast, and confident in my abilities.... I'm still a little skiddish about womens, but I'm sure in no time I'll be confident in those too. I feel so blessed that I was able to find a job so quickly!!
p.s. mom,
Jill (Kacey's mom) works at the Lindon walmart, and she was getting her hair done today when I went in today, and she talked to me for a long time and she said to tell you hi. She gave me her address and number and told me never to go hungry that she would feed me. She is super nice!

Festival of Colors

Tonight I went to the very exciting Festival of Colors. It is a fund raiser for a church in Spanish fork (Krishnas). There is loads of people and you buy powdered paint and every two hours they have a big count down and then you all throw your paint. It was one of the coolest things I have ever seen. It starts out clear..then you starting seeing bursts of color then its like a fog of color and you can't even see the person standing in front of you! I went with my sister (Brynn) and our best friend (Michell Tidwell) We had a blast. I mean who wouldn't get to throw paint at each other!! Definitely recommend it, you have to at least experience it once.
